Finally!
I’m starting today, on a special note. First, it’s my sister’s birthday, secondly my dad’s posthumous 59th birthday comes up two days after. So let’s say it’s a three in one celebration. It’s the month of March and trust me, this month have loads of exciting, interesting, intelligent, and beautiful souls to her credit. In all facets of life, they are well represented. From Olusegun Obasanjo (Baba) to Pete Edochie to Ben Okri to Matthew Ashimolowo to Banky W to Chioma Ibegbunam (the next big gig in modern poetry) to my beautiful sister. There are millions that I can’t even mention I celebrate you all. But back to the matter wey carry me come…
I’ve always had the urge to blog from time immemorial. It became more visible in 2017 but I kept putting it off up until today. Maybe I didn’t know that it was officially called blogging but what I do know is that some persons sat down and wrote on various subject matters ranging from lifestyle to fashion, politics, science, technology, gossip, etc and let it out to people to read and air out their opinions on the story or gist as the case may be since one cannot be with everyone face to face all the time.
And I finally pushed out procrastination and decided to start. Procrastination is a two way traffic anyway. It either makes you more creative or lazier so says a research done by two psychology professors Adam Grant and Jihae Shin. Some great persons in life procrastinated at some point in their life. Now, did you know that it took Leonardo da Vinci 16 years to finish the famous Mona Lisa painting? Can you believe that? Bill Clinton, Frank Lloyd Wright and some others had at one point in their lives put off their duties to a later day but things later churned out well because they were determined even in procrastination. If you must procrastinate, may your story be like that of Bill Clinton and the other procrastinators who despite all odds achieved their goal.

At several moments, I gave up the idea because my myopic mind said it was almost impossible to fuel fresh and engaging content weekly, bi weekly, or monthly. This got me thinking. But yes, starting this blog means that at every slightest opportunity, a gist or an idea must come up in mind to write about. This journey is not supposed to be an all smooth journey considering the fact that I’m a novice and I am shy about it. I am not a regular person but if you ask me what is so special about me, I cannot clearly pin point. That aside, I am a serving corp member in Kano State. I am not sure about how people are receptive to the idea of NYSC but I do know that it is not so much of a bad idea if certain things would be put in place.
Well, the elections are over and I didn’t participate in the process. Not as an adhoc staff, not as a voter. Being a corper is an automatic ticket to being a presiding officer (PO) or assistant presiding officer (APO) but no, I wasn’t interested. I and some other persons were scared for our dear lives. Las Las, we all would die someday but it depends on the die. All die no be die. Death get levels…
This blog will be taking us (me and you) through a quite irregular journey. It is going to be focused on my very self and my immediate environment. I’m not so much of a boring person (or so I think) so expect a very exciting engaging content. The ideas shared on this platform would stem from personal experiences because they can be easily accounted for whenever I am called upon to do so. It would be more like a freestyle blog. This is going to be an interesting journey I believe.
I am a freestyle blogger. Keep calm while I take you through this journey! Thank you so much. Let’s keep a date. Sunday it is.
