It's Christmas, Be Merry!

Millions of 'Merry Christmas' wishes would fly around the world today. The big question is, how many of us are genuinely merry? What makes you merry? The holiday? The birth of Christ? What?
The Christmas celebration is a huge one because it is heralded by a public holiday, and it clashes with the end of the year festivities, a time when family members love to reunite after a long year of struggling to make ends meet. In Nigeria, there's usually an urban-rural migration during this period. Relatives use this Yuletide season to meet one another and share memories.
Growing up, Christmas for me was wearing a new dress, rocking a new hairstyle, traveling to the village, meeting relatives I didn't know existed, and coming back home after some days. Christmas was a period I looked forward to. I enjoyed the moments when my mother took my leg's measurement with a broom so she could get my exact shoe size😂😂😂. You know our African parents na, they didn't buy my correct size, they bought a slightly bigger one, so it fits perfectly within the year. I would wear the shoe with tissue inside for some months before it becomes my exact size.
We always travel with our cousins (two of them), and we would do a traveler's vigil. In the vigil, we'll vow to be awake till the next day because the joy in our hearts wouldn't let us sleep. We would pour water on anyone caught sleeping until the person eventually wakes up. Las Las, all of us slept, and no one was awake to do the pouring of water.
Lots and lots of childhood memories about Christmas...
What is your best childhood memories about Christmas???
I've not had any remarkable Christmas experience as an adult, but I hope to get one pretty soon. I still want Christmas clothes too but didn't get any for myself because there are more important things to do with the limited cash 😉.
I also want to go to the Bahamas, Paris or Switzerland to celebrate Christmas but I can't afford it now. Do you see it? The little one I can afford, I enjoy it in my little corner and the one I can't afford, I only hope for the best.
Buy what you can afford and flee from what you can't afford, you hear? No go dey do pass yourself.
It's also my cousin's birthday!! I celebrate you, bro; God bless you.
Merry Christmas from a Lady who just clocked 20 Three! Jesus loves yuuu💝💝💝💝
