My personal testimony
I've always envied people who stood at the pulpit to testify to the glory of the Almighty God. I would say that one day, it would be my turn. The truth is, my turn came severally, and I didn't realize they were testimonies worth sharing because like Fagin in Oliver Twist, I want more. You know, sometimes we are blinded by our woes that we fail to see Akachukwu (God's hand).
In the spirit of testimonies, I want to share a short story that has left me awed to date. Amen? (Amen) The Lord is good... (all the time) and all the time?... (the Lord is good).

Here's a prelude to the testimony...
Sometime in 2016, my dad took a loan (e big sha), and he was sick at the time. The purpose of the loan was to settle our school fees for two years because the side hustles that brought the extra cash to the house was no longer there plus he was spending more on his health. I got my 300 level and 400 level school fees from there. My sister had already done her registration as a 100 level student as at then, so she got her 200 and 300 level school fees. My brother got his share likewise. The fees were not to be touched as we would get our monthly stipends from his salary.
The bank was hesitant to give the loan in the first place. This man was frail, and we know how it is with ill health... We only hoped he got better because Nigeria's health system is in disarray. Maybe I'll take time to talk about my crazy experience with Nigerian tertiary institutions, particularly UPTH and IMSUTH. Back to the story... the bank eventually gave him the loan, and an amount was deducted from his monthly salary.
It was discomforting, though, and we could not wait for two years to elapse so we can enjoy the full salary. Lol😃. In other words, the bank would stop their monthly deduction in 2018.
So, here's my personal testimony...
My father died on 28th April 2018. I felt Jesus Christ was punishing us (everyone that has lost a loved one thinks the same too) for whatever reason, and it was time to see the peppered side of life. I was wrong. It didn't take up to two days to think otherwise. My dad had already received his April salary before his death, and so, we were patiently waiting for the usual deduction. Hours, days, and weeks passed, and nothing was deducted. When we got back home from my aunty's house, my mum checked the bank documents and discovered that the loan repayment expired in March 2018! Wow!
How exactly were we supposed to cope with a loan repayment? We didn't have a tangible good to sell to get enough to pay the bank if he had died earlier. Maybe, we would have been left with one option - selling the house or borrow from God knows where. I had just left school and was teaching in a secondary school around my area. The salary was not encouraging for a freshly baked graduate like me, and it came late most of the time😒. (Another story for another day)
You can learn how to write a personal testimony about yourself if you can't say it out before a congregation. Maybe I'll write more since I'm not the kind that wants to hold a mic and sing my favorite Igbo song before I start narrating the endless story with few song breaks here and there. Na my testimony be this. Thanks for reading.
