FOUR REASONS YOU SHOULD WATCH BIG BROTHER NAIJA 2020
Did you know that politicians would continue to siphon Nigeria's revenue even if Big Brother Naija is banned? Yes, this is because BBN is not Nigeria's problem, and even when it is banned, it's not Uhuru for us. I tell you what? Even politicians enjoy the show… don't ask how I know. That said, the show shouldn't be a subject of moral debate, especially as we know that there are more hypocrites in Nigeria than anywhere in the world.
Go to twitter and see the number of young adults that like, retweet, and comment on BBN-related posts. These guys aren't from Mars for crying out loud. I know some accomplished persons who air their views about the show. If you're so serious with life and consider the show a frivolity, this post isn't for you, though.

Here are some reasons Big Brother Naija is worth your time:
It keeps you in touch with reality
It is a reality TV show – the actions of the housemates reflect our everyday life. Whenever I watch the Big brother reality tv show, it serves as a reality check on myself. What would I do if it were me? If someone insults or body shames me, how would I react? I've watched several fights in the house, and sometimes, I feel the recipient should have responded better or even worse – many of us think the same. While they play games, you watch the ebullience with which some housemates carry out their task, and you're like whew! I love this energy. Unconsciously, you want to improve your physical and mental strength. Watching how these housemates live their lives pushes us to become better versions of ourselves.
It is entertaining
Entertainment takes us out of our present tangle – lousy leadership, I mean. Some weeks back, Nigerians watched the drama unfold in the Edo state house of assembly and how people who were supposed to represent the masses acted foolishly in the world's eyes. Each passing day, twitter has various hashtags and (un)fortunately, BBN and famous housemates make it to the top five (EL OH EL). This raises the argument as to the frivolities Nigerian youths engage in. Well, in the next point I'll expatiate on that. The reality is that BBN is a distraction from our frustrating reality. Permit us to analyze and love our favorite housemate. Read the dailies and see if you wouldn't be depressed about some events in Nigeria. The loan figures alone are sickening!
It teaches relationship lessons
Only a handful of relationships survive outside the Big Brother house, but tons of housemates start getting 'booed up' the minute they arrive. Not all relationships should end in marriage, though. I know about Teddy A and Bam Bam, but how much more? The current housemates are not left out as we see Neo and Vee, Kidd and Erica, Ozo, and Nengi (even though someone has been brother zoned), Tbaj and Prince (the official military regime) and recently Brighto and Wathoni. They're having the best time of their lives there, and watching them helps you take lessons from your current relationship. Imagine professing love to a man/woman and going behind them to say something else. Brethren and sistren, this the reality o. Wise up.

BBN doesn't stop you from actualizing your dreams - Life isn't that serious
For those against youths watching BBN, here's what I think: Big brother Naija doesn't stop you from promoting your small business, inventing a solution to world problems, or having a Ph.D.! You can watch the show while thinking of creative ideas to implement. I remember Ozo talking about his dreams for football in Nigeria. Many other housemates shared inspirational million-dollar ideas. Mike from the previous season is an athlete, Esther is a lawyer, and Khafi, a police officer and the list goes on. The only difference with these housemates is that they want a shot at fame, and getting into Biggie's house gives them that opportunity. Did you know that Florence Lawrence, Michael Jackson, Steve McQueen, were entertainers and inventors too?
If you don't appreciate the show, that's fine. I mean, we all can't all be on equal footing. Good luck with your choice but allow others to live snugly with the consequences of their choice.
The
show entrances me, and this makes it addictive. Most times, I stay up till 2 am
so I don't miss out on any gist. Twitter is awash with updates on BBN, but you know
it hits differently when you get the information first hand. I'll continue to
follow the program till the end, but I'll apply self-control and ensure it
doesn't take most of my time. The person you see below is my favorite housemate.
